Questions are welcome here.
A few starting points for conversations about life insurance and retirement planning.
How much life insurance should I consider?
It depends on your income, financial obligations, family needs, existing coverage, and goals. A needs-based discussion can help you identify a reasonable range to explore.
Do I need life insurance if I have coverage through work?
Employer coverage can be helpful, but it may be limited and may not continue if you leave your job. Review the amount, terms, portability, and your family's needs before deciding whether additional coverage is appropriate.
What is the difference between term and permanent life insurance?
Term insurance generally provides coverage for a specified period. Permanent policies are designed to provide coverage for longer periods when policy requirements are met and may include cash value, but typically have higher costs and more complexity.
What is Indexed Universal Life (IUL)?
IUL is permanent life insurance with cash value credited under a formula linked in part to an external index. It is not a direct investment in the stock market. Policy charges, crediting limits, funding, and loans affect outcomes.
Can life insurance be used as part of a retirement strategy?
Certain permanent policies may offer cash-value access, but they are life insurance contracts with costs, conditions, and risks. Whether one is appropriate depends on the individual and should be evaluated alongside other options.
What are living benefits?
Some policies include riders or provisions that may accelerate part of the death benefit if the insured meets defined critical, chronic, or terminal illness requirements. Eligibility, fees, and benefit amounts vary, and an accelerated benefit usually reduces the remaining death benefit.
What is an annuity?
An annuity is a contract issued by an insurance company that may offer accumulation, income, or both. Contract features, guarantees, fees, surrender charges, and liquidity differ.
Do you work with multiple insurance companies?
We work with insurance providers for which we are appropriately appointed and licensed, subject to product availability and suitability. We can discuss available options based on your circumstances.
Does scheduling a conversation mean I have to buy something?
No. The purpose is to understand your questions and explore whether any options may fit. You decide whether to take any next steps.
